"Daniel Gebru, a man from Eritrea, illegally smuggled himself into Sweden in late 2014. When he got to Sweden he claimed to be a refugee, and while his asylum application was being processed, a Swedish family invited him to live with them in Upplands-Bro, Northern Stockholm.

According to information the court heard, the family kicked him out of the apartment for not paying rent, and on July 25th, 2015, Gebru broke into the bathroom of the family apartment, stabbed their 7 year-old daughter to death, and then slashed open her throat.

In court, he was ruled to be mentally unstable, and despite the court saying that he caused “unnecessary suffering” to the girl, he was found guilty of manslaughter, but not of murder.

Instead of prison, he was sentenced to receive psychiatric care, and when he is given a special discharge review, he is sentenced to be deported back to Eritrea.

However, he may not be deported because the Swedish Migration board believes that no one should be deported back to Eritrea because of “human rights” violations – whatever that means."
